  • Cynics will note the resolutely untheatrical digitally animated backdrop, the clumsy split-level design and the seemingly uninspired parroting of the movie script. But Baby Houseman's conversion from my-heart-belongs-to-daddy schoolgirl into sexy adolescent is the archetypal Ugly Duckling story. And the object of her affections, dancing teacher, Johnny Castle, has an electric dancing talent and a sex appeal to match.

Went to see Dirty Dancing with two friends on Monday Sept.29th 2008.
It was diabolical, the wooden tops would have performed with more zing. Maybe the under-studies, under-studies were performing that night.
Saw We will Rock You the next night, now that was entertainment.

I went to see this last night and it was truly disappointing. I've seen Akram Khan before in Ma which was brilliant. This on the other hand was the opposite. It lacked innovation, technical skill (which I know he is capable of), and a compelling storyline...a complete waste of time and money

If you feel like doing a little of the dirty dancing yourself after the show visit Exilio Latin Dance Club, one minute from The Aldwych theatre, held at the London School of Economics, Saturdays from 10pm till 3am. Exilio is a very relaxed Latino club, running now for the last 12 years! www.exilio.co.uk I love it!

Absolutly superb...... Dancing was fab and they had every scene down to 'T'. I went into there expecting to dislike this as i had no idea hoe they could convert the film into a stage show and i was completly blew away with how tremandous it was.... I envy every actor as they are all living out their dream. My only bug would be some of the accents, the guy who played Jonny castle was a tad strange and Doc Houseman lost his whole accent half way through.... but my friends who i watched it with didnt even realise as they were all t o engrossed...... Final word... GO.

I have seen Dirty Dancing four times now....and it gets better every time! Everything is spot on ..... especially Josef Brown who plays Johnny!, if you loved the film, you will love this, you know what's coming at the end, and you are on the edge of your seat with a massive grin! because this is one show that has a real feel good factor, whether you are on your own or with friends, you will enjoy it!

I went to see this yesterday...its was brilliant and it gave me goosebumps. However the actings was really bad. Does anyone know who played Johnny Castle on June 11th as it wasnt Josef Brown?

This was the worst musical I've ever seen and there have been many. The only highlight in the musical was the actress who played Lisa Houseman singing 'I Feel Pretty'. Don't waste your money on the overpriced disaster. Rent the classic movie instead!

Absolutely amazing and I'm a guy. The stage effects are done really well, the acting is spot on and the women in the crowd (or everyone who knows the film) love it. Top production, fine cast, well worth the price of admission.

Have your say
